Born and raised in the flat till plains of central Illinois, my family traveled to Rockies twice a year for skiing and backpacking trips. I knew the mountains held a special place in my world, but I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. I spent the fall of my junior year of high school at the High Mountain Institute, getting exposed to small class sizes and solidifying my love for the outdoors and backpacking. I discovered my love for geology at Beloit College, in Beloit, WI, a small, quirky, liberal arts college in southern Wisconsin. I chose to attend Beloit due to the friendly students, women’s soccer team, and academic diversity. Little did I know that Wisconsin has world-class glacial geology and Beloit has an excellent geology department.
In my free time, I love to play ultimate frisbee, canoe, eat cheese curds, and enjoy life in vibrant Madison.
